HRLF Fall 2026 Recap Monday with The Quality Coach®
We’re excited to share a quick recap from our HR Leadership Forum recent Breakfast session, where we explored “From Cognitive Load to Capacity – Building a Human-Centered AI Ecosystem,” featuring Alicia Jett. You can read highlights from the event linked below.
A heartfelt thank you to Liberty Hall Cultural Center located in downtown Washington for the beautiful venue, and Karissa Jones and Swallow’s Nest for the amazing breakfast.
What could your team do with more capacity?
That question is worth carrying into a new week following our recent Human Resource Leadership Forum.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Liberty Hall in Washington for “From Cognitive Load to Capacity – Building a Human-Centered AI Ecosystem,” featuring Alicia Jett. We appreciate Alicia sharing her perspective and everyone who made time to learn and connect.
For leaders and HR professionals, the topic reaches beyond technology. It invites us to consider how work gets done—and how we can give people more room to think, collaborate, and contribute.
Start with the work that drains capacity
Before adding another tool, pause and ask: Where is our team spending time on repetitive work? Where do people search for information, duplicate efforts, or struggle with unclear processes?
Those questions help us identify a useful starting point. Sometimes the answer involves AI. Sometimes it begins with a clearer process, better communication, or a shared expectation.
Keep people at the center
Introducing AI is also a leadership and change conversation. People need to understand its purpose, have opportunities to ask questions, and receive support as they learn.
Our responsibility as leaders is to create an environment where people can explore possibilities while continuing to use their judgment and expertise.
Turn saved time into something meaningful
If a tool helps us complete a task more efficiently, what will we do with the time we gain?
Perhaps it becomes a coaching conversation we’ve postponed, a more thoughtful client follow-up, or time to develop an employee. Creating capacity matters most when we use it intentionally.
Your Monday morning challenge
Choose one recurring task this week and ask your team:
What makes this task harder or more time-consuming than it needs to be?
Could we simplify the process or use AI to support part of the work?
What would still need human review and judgment?
How would we use the time we gain?
Start small, learn together, and evaluate what improves.
At The Quality Coach®, we help organizations connect strategy, people, and learning. Whether your next step involves developing leaders, strengthening communication, or helping your team navigate change, we’d welcome a conversation.
